Where Miami's Poets Gather
On The B Side is a Miami-based cultural arts organization that has produced live music, spoken word poetry, and open mic experiences in South Florida since 2001. Founded and curated by Ingrid B., we create spaces where poets, musicians, and audiences connect.
Our poetry programming spans intimate open mic nights, competitive poetry slams, and featured spoken word showcases — held in venues across Miami, North Miami, and the broader South Florida area.

25 Years of Poetry in South Florida
Since 2001, On The B Side has been one of South Florida's most consistent producers of spoken word poetry and open mic culture. Our events have featured poets from Miami, North Miami, and across the country.
Our poetry programming has included Flow Fridays, The Bohemia Room, The Poetry Spot, and The B Side Slam — each with its own format, audience, and energy. We present poetry as a living art form, not a relic.
On The B Side has been recognized by WLRN and Artburst Miami for its contribution to Miami's poetry and cultural arts scene.
What to Expect
Open Mic
Anyone can sign up to perform. Poets, musicians, and spoken word artists share the stage in an open, welcoming format. No competition — just expression.
Poetry Slam
A competitive format where poets perform original work and are scored by audience judges. The Will Power Slam is one of our signature slam events.
Featured Showcase
Curated performances by invited poets and spoken word artists. Audiences attend to listen, not necessarily to perform.
Online Events
Some events, like The Poetry Spot, are held online. These are accessible from anywhere and are clearly labeled as virtual.
